Monsters — human, robot and alien — were lurking everywhere in the Alien: Earth season finale.

On Sept. 23, the eighth and final episode of Alien: Earth season 1 premiered on FX and Hulu. The latest installment saw Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and her Lost Boy hybrids “haunting” the Neverland research lab as they took revenge on Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin) and his team who created them, using the Xenomorphs as enforcers.

As if that wasn’t enough, at the end of the episode, Yutani’s (Sandra Yi Sencindiver) soldiers began heading to the island to recover the extraterrestrial specimens.

So, who survived and who died in the finale? Here’s everything to know about the ending of the eighth episode of Alien: Earth season 1, “The Real Monsters.”

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the Alien: Earth season 1 finale!

Season 1 of Alien: Earth ends with Wendy and the Lost Boy hybrids now in control of the Neverland research island. Wendy can control the Xenomorphs and the electronic equipment in the science facility, allowing the hybrids to escape.

After playing a game of “hide and seek,” Wendy and company take Boy Kavalier, his team and Morrow (Babou Ceesay) captive, using the Xenomorphs as their own security officers.

“What do we do now?” Curly (Erana James) asks Wendy at the end of the episode. “Now we rule,” Wendy responds, as an imprisoned and powerless Kavalier laughs.

Wendy is now in control, but her reign might be short-lived, since Yutani’s soldiers are on their way to the island to recover the Xenomorphs and the other alien specimens.

“This chapter is closed, but Yutani troops are landing. The balance of power has shifted,” Hawley told The Hollywood Reporter while discussing the finale. “These children have no idea what’s coming. The last line of, ‘Now we rule’ is triumphant and uplifting.”

“But cut to 10 minutes later … what is going to be happening? So I like that it has that real-time urgency to it,” he added.

Yes, Wendy and her gang of hybrids, known as the Lost Boys, all survive the Alien: Earth season finale.

One of the hybrids, Tootles (Kit Young), was previously killed in episode 6. However, all of the Lost Boys who started out in the episode are still alive by the end.

What happens to Boy Kavalier?

Despite a terrifying encounter with a Xenomorph, Boy Kavalier is still alive at the end of Alien: Earth season 1. He is tied up and being held captive by Wendy, but he has survived — for now.

The last viewers see of Boy Kavalier is him laughing in his cell, realizing how powerful his hybrid creations have become.

Hawley described Boy Kavalier as “an anarchist” to The Hollywood Reporter.

“There’s delight in the fact that she’s [Wendy] picking up the matchbook and is ready to burn it all down. It’s so exciting what’s going to happen next,” he explained.

Blenkin told Variety in September 2025 that his character’s laughter comes from arrogance.

“He’s like, ‘I invented these guys and they’re doing exactly what I wanted!’ ” he said. “They’ve gone far beyond what he thought they were capable of. That laugh is just filled with admiration for them.”

Who dies in the Alien: Earth season finale?

For an episode with deadly Xenomorphs on the loose, there are very few deaths in the season 1 finale of Alien: Earth.

The short list of casualties includes security officer Siberian (Diêm Camille) — who is the victim of a giant plant monster — and a series of nameless soldiers who are killed by a Xenomorph.

One other fan-favorite character finally meets its end: the sheep who had been the host for the eyeball monster. In the episode, the eyeball monster tries to find a new host in Hermit (Alex Lawther), and removes itself from the sheep’s head, killing it.

The intelligent and horrifying tentacle creature attempts to latch onto Hermit, but is unsuccessful after Wendy saves him.

While there aren’t many deaths in the finale, one character is brought back to life — sort of. The body of Arthur (David Rysdahl), who was previously killed when a Xenomorph burst from his chest, had been lying on the beach for the entire episode.

After escaping the research facility, the eyeball monster finds itself on the beach. It crawls over to Arthur’s body and burrows itself in his left eye socket. Arthur then sits up, his body now being controlled by the eyeball monster.

Are the Xenomorphs still alive?

Both Xenomorphs are both alive at the end of Alien: Earth season 1.

The aliens are now following Wendy’s commands as they watch over the cell where Kavalier, his employees and Morrow are being kept.
