The rift within the Beckham family has reached new heights as David Beckham and wife Victoria Beckham have now received a legal notice from their son Brooklyn. The family has been going through a tough phase for the past few years. The first child of David and Victoria, Brooklyn has now cut all communications with his parents and has appointed a lawyer for any further communication.
A recent report from The Sun revealed that Brooklyn had sent a legal notice to his parents, asking them only to contact him and his wife, actor Nicola Peltz, via lawyers. Interestingly, all of this transpired on Nicola’s birthday. Brooklyn had also blocked his parents, which he claimed was due to a ‘like on Instagram’ by his mother, which was a breach of the ‘desist’ letter.
An insider told People magazine that both David and Victoria have tried to patch up things with Brooklyn and Nicola multiple times. He said, “David and Victoria have repeatedly asked Brooklyn and Nicola to meet and talk in order to move forward. David loves his kids; they are his everything. He, of course, invited Brooklyn and Nicola (to his knighting and after-gathering). They have always been invited to all family occasions or events, whether private or public.”
When did the rift between Brooklyn and David-Victoria start?
Most of the online timelines and media reports point towards Brooklyn and Nicola’s marriage being the starting point of this controversy. Nicola decided to not go with a wedding dress designed by her mother-in-law Victoria, and reportedly left the hall crying when family friend Marc Anthony invited Victoria and Brooklyn on the stage instead of her for a dance.
By the end of 2023, things started to get better, as Nicola and Brooklyn again started appearing in pictures with the rest of the family.
Conflict resurfaced in 2025
In May 2025, reports surfaced that Nicola and Brooklyn had snubbed David’s birthday party held in Miami. Reports of a rift between Brooklyn and younger brother Romeo also came up. Some reports suggested that Brooklyn was romantically involved with Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, but Cruz Beckham squashed the news and said that Brooklyn and Kim never dated.
However, things didn’t get better, as in June 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola unfollowed Cruz and Romeo on Instagram, and the two did the same. Then, David and Victoria skipped Peltz-Beckham vow renewals. Now with the legal notice in play and both David and Victoria blocked, it appears that things are more than rocky for the Beckhams.
