For 28 years, X-Men fans have treated one mutant hero as a joke, appearing in countless ‘worst and weirdest’ character lists. But now, as the homo superior hero unleashes his full powers, it’s clear his haters just weren’t thinking big enough. Marvel has a new Omega-level mutant – one who is finally done being underestimated.
In 1997, Uncanny X-Men introduced Japheth, aka Maggott. Maggott’s mutation caused his digestive system to transform into two sentient maggots, nicknamed Eany and Meany. These mutant bugs have powerful digestive acid that allows them to eat almost anything, passing nutrients and mass back to Maggott. After feeding, Maggott gains enhanced strength and speed, as well as being able to heal from serious injury. Now, he’s pushing all those dials up to 11.
