Superhero studio Marvel has now released three teasers for Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to release at the end of this year. It boasts a stunning cast, and if the teasers are anything to go by, it is bringing some very important worlds together. One of the stars in the film is Alan Cumming, who will be reprising his role as Nightcrawler. In a recent interview, Alan talked about his experience of working in Avengers: Doomsday and how his first day turned out to be worse than initially imagined.

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the star was thanked by the host for taking over the show for one episode during the summer. Jimmy pointed out that Alan has been nominated for a GLAAD award for that particular episode. For the unversed, the GLAAD awards are presented to people from the LGBTQ+ community to honour them for their contributions to media. Alan appreciated the gesture and recalled how he interviewed the cast of Fantastic Four: First Steps during that episode.

He said, “Well, they were pretty jet-lagged. They were cute but very tired. I mean, these press tours for big films have you going around the world in a week, and when you get back here, you are just bamboozled. All of them (Fantastic Four) are in Doomsday, but what was funny was that in the first scene with Pedro, he hurt his neck and had to go home. I broke Pedro.”

Upon hearing this, Jimmy Kimmel tried to unravel some more details about this scene and started asking whether Alan Cumming was fighting Pedro or fighting alongside him. Alan laughed the questions off and didn’t let out any more details. However, it does prove that the Fantastic Four are going to be in contact with the world of X-Men. Alan as Nightcrawler first appeared in X2 and was the main antagonist of the film.

Fantastic Four: First Steps was a fresh adaptation of one of Marvel’s oldest teams, a team that is going to appear alongside the Avengers, Thunderbolts*, and the X-Men. Apart from Pedro, who plays Mr Fantastic, the team includes Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.

Avengers: Doomsday releases on December 18.
