Selena Gomez tied the knot with boyfriend Benny Blanco on September 27. Though the couple kept their nuptials extremely private, the ‘Calm Down’ singer has shared a personal video from her wedding where her best friend and pop superstar Taylor Swift is seen hyping her up as she gets dressed in her bridal attire.
The clip shows Taylor dressed in a gold dress and recording the moment. “Are you even serious?” the music superstar jokes in the clip as she zooms in on Selena, who was having her veil fitted at the time. “What? Look at her. Oh my God! Oh my God!” Taylor can be seen saying. “I’m so happy,” Selena responded. “I’m getting married. Finally!”
Apart from the video, Selena also shared photos from the wedding where they are seen toasting a drink in Selena’s glam room before she walked down the aisle. Another photo shows them hugging at the wedding reception. Selena also shared a poster of Taylor’s brand-new album The Life of a Showgirl, cheering Taylor for her new release. She wrote in the caption, “In honor of SHOWGIRL… blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator! I love you @taylorswift forever and always.”
While Selena has beaten friend Taylor Swift to the aisle, the Love Story singer recently announced her engagement to football star Travis Kelce. In a recent interaction on The Graham Norton Show, Taylor talked about her wedding plans, revealing that she will dive into wedding planning right after promoting her new album.
When asked when she will tie the knot, she told the show’s host, “Oh, you’ll know. I was going to invite you to it.” Graham joked, “If you’re inviting me, it’s very big,” to which Taylor responded, “It’s huge.”
The 35-year-old also shared that she and Travis will have a big wedding and will not keep a tight guest list, as she doesn’t want the headache and tension that comes with preparing a wedding with a small guest list. Taylor explained how having fewer guests often means you “have to evaluate or assess your relationship” with someone to see if they should be there.
She said, “I’m so excited about it. I know it’s gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble. I’m not gonna do that.”
