Dwayne Johnson, or The Rock, is one of the biggest movie stars of all time, and his movies have made billions of dollars at the box office. One of his regular comrades in the movies is comedian Kevin Hart, and the two have some of the best banter you will hear between co-stars. They have poked fun at each other in various interviews, and during one of those times, Kevin called out Dwayne for taking credit for something he should have done years ago.
While promoting their film Superpets, Kevin and Dwayne sat down for an interview with ExtraTV. The interviewer congratulated Dwayne on buying his mother a house. But just before Dwayne could pick up all of the brownie points, Kevin scoffed and said, “About time. A billion dollars later, you bought your mom a house. Should we clap for that? I think the whole room right now is thinking the same thing; It’s about f****** time.” As Dwayne struggled to catch his breath laughing, Kevin doubled down on the jokes and started imitating his co-star showing his mother the house for the first time.
Kevin continued, “I don’t have that kind of money, but old ‘billion dollar box office’ over here finally buys her a house.” Dwayne finally got some words in and said, “Over the years I have been very lucky to buy her a lot of houses, ever since she divorced my dad. There you (Kevin) go. Are you happy now? After the big divorce I have bought her a lot of places, but she said stuff like, ‘This might be my last,’ and I hate when parents talk like that. It was a beautiful moment, and we completely decorated the house, and she had no idea.”
The banter continued when the interviewer asked them if they plan to work together again, and Dwayne instantly said, “No, this is the last one.”
Currently Dwayne Johnson is waiting for the worldwide release of his movie The Smashing Machine, after the positive reactions it received during its premiere in Venice. Directed by Ben Safdie, the film follows the real-life story of UFC fighter Matt Kerr, played by Dwayne. The rest of the cast includes Emily Blunt, Bas Rutten, Ryan Bader, Marcus Aurelio, and Oleksandr Usyk. It will release on October 3.
